The SRTR Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) advises the SRTR on issues such as analytic methodologies to improve the effectiveness of the SRTR and support the OPTN; objectives, study designs, and statistical methods for research projects performed by the SRTR; and methods used in simulated allocation modeling.

The STAC is composed of 8 to 10 voting members and a smaller number of nonvoting members, including the SRTR Project Officer and a representative of the OPTN. The SRTR may establish subcommittees and/or working groups as necessary. Currently, the STAC has two subcommittees, one on Simulated Allocation Modeling and one on Transplant Program-Specific Reports. To see the committee rosters, click here.

The STAC meets quarterly. Two of a year’s four meetings are face-to-face, with one of these meetings held in the Washington, DC, area; the other two meetings are held by teleconference. In addition, special meetings may be convened, with approval of the SRTR Project Officer.

To ensure that potential conflicts of interest (COIs) do not exist in deliberations of the STAC and its subcommittees, members must disclose their potential conflicts of interest. If topics arise during STAC discussions or activities that bear potential conflict of interest concerns for individual members of the STAC, the individuals with conflicts should recuse themselves from discussion and voting on those particular topics.
